DATW Ambassadorship

Unlike most of the other dance photographers out there that use their ambassador program to promote their own business, I use mine to learn, have fun, create and come up with ideas together.

I like to build connections with both dancers and parents and grow together. I won't make them better dancers (they already have their own teachers for that), but I'll help them translate what they know about dance to a photo that looks great. Each dancer is unique, and I like to bring that uniqueness to their pictures, and everyone needs to improve (including me!) Sometimes it's as easy as improving the technique slightly to make it look good in camera, and sometimes it's a matter of working 2, 3, 4 times together to get more confidence in front of the camera.

This is not a subscription model. You don't have to pay monthly fees or entry fees. 

You can have a photoshoot with any photographer you want at any point in time. I recommend working with photographers I follow as those are the ones I consider safe and reliable.

However, there are some limits on becoming an ambassador for other photographers. 

• If you live in Washington, California or Arizona, you cannot represent another photographer. 
• If you live outside of WA, CA or AZ, you are allowed to represent 1 local photographer. You can only represent photographers I'm following, since those are the ones I consider safe. If I'm not following a photographer it may be because I don't know them so feel free to ask!

• Post pictures taken by me on your Instagram. 
• You should comment daily on my pictures. I understand that sometimes life gets busy and that's ok. It's not a "365 comments per year or you are out" kind of thing, but I want to make sure that the support goes both ways.
• You should add @datwphotography or @d.a.t.w.photography to your bio
• Join the DATW Telegram Group and DATW Chat
•  I do an ambassador recap video on Sundays where I feature what my ambassadors did that week. If you did anything interesting during your week, please send pics or videos. It can be ANYTHING: Competitions, learning new tricks, getting pointe shoes, traveling, etc. As long as it's something great happening in their life as dancers or kids, I would love to feature it.

• You get free photoshoots (doesn't include rent fee if we are shooting indoors) during your term. 

• You get unlimited pictures from our shoots. You can choose as many pictures as you like from your unedited gallery. I'll start by editing 10 of those and you can always ask me to edit a specific picture if it's not edited yet and you will have it ready within 24 hours. The more you post, the more pictures you get! Please don't hesitate to ask for pics!

• Priority (and free) booking for my trips!

• Free Starbucks during competition weekends (1 order per comp)

Since I'm no longer doing an ambassador search (too much stress for me and the dancers that apply), if you are reading this is because I want you to stay for as long as you want and as long as the program makes sense for you!

If you do any of these, you have a guaranteed spot next year:

• Post 50 pictures per year (this translates to around 1 pic per week, but you can post at your own pace)
• Participate actively in the telegram chat (for example by sending pics for the ambassador recap, voting in the polls, providing feedback, etc)
• Travel to Seattle once every 2 years for a weekend of photoshoots.

Before deciding if you want to join the program please sit down with your kid (or kids) and ask them if they really want to join. This is a decision that needs to be made by the kids with approval of the parents and not the other way around.
